Roles and Goals

For my new job next year I am reading “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Steven Covey. Love it! In the section talking about “beginning with the end in mind” Covey talks about listing the different roles you have and setting goals for each. I'm not currently exercising all the roles I am capable of (such as wife and mother) but that is where the goal part comes in! I posted an example of what I wrote for mine but feel free to snag a free template for yourself!

30 Scripture Study Skills

So my AMAZING institute teacher Brother Allen gave us a list of scripture study skills to help us improve our application of scripture knowledge and I cannot tell you how much of a difference it has made in my life implementing some of these strategies! He explained to me that I have to do more than just try to understand what I was reading, but apply  it to what was going on personally in my life. The results were life changing! Yes it took some practice and extra time reading my scriptures, but now I get EXCITED to open up my scriptures every night!

Other Helpful tips for improving Scripture Study:

“I plead with you to make time for immersing yourselves in the scriptures. Couple scripture study with your prayers. Half an hour each morning privately studying, pondering, and communicating with your Heavenly Father can make an amazing difference in your lives. It will give increased success in your daily activities. It will bring rock-steady assurance when the storms of life descend upon you”-- –Elder M. Russell Ballard
